Indoor swimming in the winter!

We went swimming with some friends on a cold winter day at the indoor pool and it was a blast! Norah enjoyed swimming last summer, but she's changed a lot since the last time she was in a pool (understanding more, walking, etc.), so I was anxious to see what she would do.

She LOVED it. She was like a fish. She splashed and had no fear of going deep. I forgot to bring her life vest (oops), and I wished I would have had it because she wanted me to let her go! Her head even went under a couple times when she made a dive for it and she didn't even mind. She went down the small water slide twice and enjoyed that too.

We will definitely have to go again! It was so much fun. She threw a tantrum when it was time to leave because she wanted to go back in. When we got home and I picked her up to put her in her high chair for lunch, she just wrapped her arms around me and squeezed for a minute and laid her head on my shoulder as if to say "thanks mom, I really loved that." It was completely adorable.

I love getting to spend my days with you, Norah, and that we can go on adventures together!

  1. She is such a cute little swimmer! I love that she loved it, but I can't imagine her throwing a tantrum, she's to sweet ;) hope to join you one day! Great post!

    1. Thanks! I, of course, think she's the most adorable! And it's so hard to imagine other people's kids throwing a tantrum too. Fortunately, Norah doesn't do it too often (but definitely will scream on occasion and blatantly show her anger), and they are short lived and she is pretty easily redirected. Hopefully it stays that way! Tantrums are hard to handle! Hope you can join us one day too! It was so fun there!

  2. Your little girl is so cute and she looks like she enjoyed swimming. It's great that you have an indoor swimming pool nearby and friends that you can go with. I think its important for kids to learn to swim from a young age. I'm trying to teach my two year old at the moment.

    1. Thank you! She does enjoy it so much and it's a great activity to break up the winter! I agree about swimming at a young age too. It's nice to introduce them to water. even as a baby, so they don't grow to be scared of it!
