Saturday night pizza and pool fun.

We had a free Saturday night and spent it at Pizza Ranch and the indoor pool! It's a family favorite to try to do a time or two during the winter on a free weekend night. It was also a bonus that my good friend, Heidi, was in town working for the weekend, so she met us at the pool and we got to talk! Thankful for a wonderful night and a slow Saturday!

Great Wolf Lodge 2024.

We went to Great Wolf Lodge two years ago, and the girls have been begging to go back ever since. So, for their big Christmas present this year, we headed back! It was a fun weekend and I'm so thankful we could go. The number one thing they talked about doing again was the huge tube slide in the waterpark (along with all the other water slides), and we enjoyed them for hours!

We enjoyed some arcade games. It was such a nostalgic, peak childhood, moment watching them in the prize room figuring out what prize they wanted to get with their tickets. So fun!

We got to see some family too, which made it even better! My sister and her family live in Minneapolis, so they came down for a few hours. Also, it lined up that my parents were there watching her kids for a couple days prior while she worked, so we got to see my parents too. And, my sister from Des Moines ended up coming with them too and she stayed in our room with us. So great!

Here's a beautiful photo of me on the ropes course, coming on to appease the girl's fears and help them, and then being gripped with fear myself on the highest spinning bar, ha. But, I crossed it!

The girls did amazing! Lucy was a beast and seemed amazingly confident up there, and Norah and Ellory were very brave and did quite well too!

What a gift to be able to go and we treasured our time together! Of course every moment wasn't full of picture perfect treasuring times, but overall it was pretty great and so happy we could do it!

Valentine's Day 2024.

First time back at the park (and some birthday celebrations) 2024.

First time back at the park already in January- we'll take it! December was very mild, then the first two weeks of January we got tons of snow and it was super cold, and the last two weeks of January were really mild again! 30 degrees feels quite warm after the beginning of January felt like -40! Love to be getting outside daily again and love seeing these smiling faces enjoying it!

We got to celebrate Kley's grandma Shirley's birthday in January, along with cousin Will turning five. Thankful for another year with them and the gift of family!

Winter rec basketball 2024.

All three girls are playing winter rec basketball this year! What fun and I'm thankful our town has opportunities like this. It's six weeks, which is the perfect length to be involved, try it out, and have fun. I'm glad it's not year round, so we can do different rec sports at different times of the year! Lucy and Ellory are old enough this year and are glad to be joining in. Way to go, girls! Proud of you for putting yourself out there and working hard! We love you!

And way to go Kley, for helping coach Lucy and Elory's team! (Norah's team is coached by parks and rec staff, so there wasn't the option for parent helpers for her team this year.)

Cheer camp and sledding 2024.

The girls got to do a mini cheer camp the other Friday- so cute! They practiced after school and got to perform a few cheers with the high school cheerleaders during the halftime of the basketball game. They did great!

It was also super exciting to go sledding! We had a super mild December, but then January hit hard with a bunch of snow and then super freezing temperatures (like feels like -40). We had a few snow days! It was very fun the first two with fresh snow and it wasn't that cold, so they played outside for a long time and loved it, but then two more snow days, a late start, and an early out again after the first two days, we were ready for warmer temperatures and regular routine. So, after all that, it looks like 30s for the foreseeable future and that feels so nice! We loved getting outside again and the girls were waiting to go sledding!
