Oh yea, Halloween happened.

So, everyone else was posting about Halloween, so I figured I would join the bandwagon and do it too. Although this post will be super boring, because Halloween isn't that exciting for us personally. At school is another thing. Although we can't celebrate "Halloween" we can do lots of fun fall stuff and call it "harvest" or what not.

At school we did everything from pumpkin painting, digging out pumpkin seeds, carving a pumpkin (which involved me carving and them watching me, because I am quite smart and don't give my kids knives- ha), gluing pumpkin seeds, coloring pumpkin pictures, going on a nature walk and making a collage of the things we found, apple stamping with paint, leaf rubbings, making a fall tree, etc. I could list more, but unless you are a preschool teacher you probably won't get excited about it.

For me, though, the "fall" theme at school is one of the best. There is so much you can do and it's so fun! Honestly, of all things, the best part for the kids was watching me carve the pumpkin. (Digging out the seeds is too much of a sensory overload for most kids; surprisingly most of them don't like it.) But watching me carve a pumpkin? The best thing ever! They seriously loved it and talked about it all day long. It was so fun to watch their faces.

Personally, our halloween was pretty boring. We never get any trick-or-treaters at our apartment, so we went to my parent's house for dinner, and there they only got five. Only five. Lame.

The best joke was: Q-"Why did Tigger look in the toilet?" A-"He was looking for Pooh." Ha.

Kley and I have pumpkins and a cute fall wreath on the door, but we did not carve the pumpkins this year. (At least we got pumpkins this year! Our current apartment has private entrances, so we have our own little deck area, which I love. Our MN apartment did not have private entrances, so we had no place for a pumpkin.)

The best fall thing we did was go to the pumpkin patch, which I already blogged about here.

Happy Halloween!
