Recent reads.

Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers by Dane C. Ortland- I had heard many recommend this book, and I would join their choruses. It was such a good book and I would recommend it to everyone! It was deep and moving and encouraging. It dives deep into the verse that describes Jesus as gentle and lowly and how He has a heart for sinners. Kley and I read it together, and it was one of the best books I have read in awhile!

The Guest List by Lucy Foley- This book was also very good, but in an entirely different way than the first book. This was a fiction novel and I really enjoyed it. It was suspenseful but not too scary. It wove between different characters and their points of view, but wasn't hard to follow, I think that made it more interesting. It's about a group of people coming together for a wedding, but jealousies and past grievances come into play and nothing turns out according to plan. This was an enjoyable read.

A Coat of Yellow Paint: Moving Through Noise to Love the Life You Live by Naomi Davis- I have followed Naomi's blog for over ten years now, so I was so excited to read her book when it came out and I was not disappointed. She's a Mormon and I am not, but this was a great book and I enjoyed her stories and thoughts very much. It was easy to read in a relatable sense and I enjoyed her perspectives on life and motherhood and friendship. I would recommend this one as well!
