Okoboji 2020- Swimming and Memorial Park.

We spent a few days in Okoboji with the De Jongs and we had a great time! While 2020 has been a strange year and it wasn't the family trip we had originally planned for (we were supposed to go Disney in May but it was obviously cancelled due to COVID), we are thankful we could get away together and we still had lots of fun! We love family time wherever and whenever we can get it!

We got a rare picture of just Kley and I! We celebrated our 10 year anniversary while we were there!

The girls really loved this water slide! Norah went down about 40 times, I'm not kidding.

I love this picture of all of us- we even got Will to come down too!

We are laughing because the slide was way faster than we thought. There was only two feet of water at the bottom, so we thought it would be a nice, gentle slide, but you really flew down! Kley and I both fell into the water!

I really love these slide pictures. These are the 2020 moments I want to remember. We are together and happy and healthy- thank you Jesus!

Kley is a great dad!

Norah loved going sideways.

Will loved watching the action!

We had supper by the pool, and Norah got out to quick eat a cheeseburger plus a chicken strip and some fries, and then quick headed back in for more slide runs. Slides make you hungry but you can't stop for long!

We went to Memorial Park one day too, they have a neat playground! The splash pad part wasn't turned on, but they have two playground areas that are nice too.

The girls are wonderful cousins! Will is never lacking in attention. ;)

Des Moines staycation (part 2).

While on our staycation in Des Moines, we had a super fun morning at Howell's! It's mainly a pumpkin patch, so fall is their best season, but they had part of their play area open with lots of fun things! We had fun on their unique slides and saying hi to the baby goats.

Lucy is a big daddy's girl!

Three cuties! I think it's so cute when they can three way match.

Jorie got to come too! Murphy was home napping.

Rubber duck races.

Big rolling tunnel- the girls didn't like this too much.

Wiggle cars.

Giant cow slide!

Baby goats! My favorite was named Phred. Like Fred with a Ph, so funny.

This was a cool slide!

How perfect are twins for a see-saw? So cute.

They had lots of fun sit on animals, swings, tractors/trikes, etc.

Thankful for a few days with family! It wasn't a big or exotic trip, but we will take what we can get these days. We had more fun at my parents house too making s'mores, playing outside, watching Moana and Toy Story 4, playing Minute to Win It and Guess the Candy (games I organized just for fun!), and visiting a few parks.

Des Moines staycation (part 1).

We recently had our Schut side family vacation! We were supposed to all go to a house together on a lake in Minnesota, but my parents ended up cancelling it because of COVID to just wait to spend the money on something like that until everyone felt completely comfortable/safe and we could go out and do more things, which makes sense. We all gathered together at my parent's house for a few days instead in Des Moines. While it wasn't what we originally hoped, we still had fun and am thankful we could have a few days all together!

One huge positive of having young kids is that they are easy to please and think even small things are special! They got over not being able to go to MN very quickly when we talked about some fun things we could do at Grandpa and Grandma's house.

We had a water day with our inflatable pool, some inflatable toys, and water balloons! The girls especially loved the water balloons and swimming with cousin Jorie!

There was more water in the pool, this was just when it was filling up.

The girls picked this giant inflatable ball as a treat to bring along, which provided lots of fun running around the yard.

My niece, Jorie, is the cutest!

I am super thankful that our families are fun and interactive with our girls!

We had supper at Keaton and Rose's house one night and got some cute cousin pictures with Jorie and Murphy! They just built a new house really close to my parents, which is so nice (both the house and being close to my parents)!
