Happy Easter 2015! (Part 1)

 Happy Easter! We are in Des Moines for the weekend visiting my family, and it's so good to be here and see them! Friday we went to Omaha for the Ver Steeg shopping trip with all of Kley's aunts and girl cousins. It was nice to see Elizabeth, who was back from Chicago for the weekend! After shopping we headed to Des Moines.

Saturday we hung out at home, went mini-golfing, and took Norah to see the Easter bunny for the first time! Norah slept through it, which was probably best since she wouldn't have liked it anyways. Also, we didn't get a great picture. Bummer. (I feel strongly about teaching Norah that Christmas is about Christ's birth, and Easter is about His death/resurrection, but I am not opposed to taking them to see santa and the bunny if it's all just in fun and we talk about it beforehand.)

Then we got some pretty adorable Easter pictures of Norah. :)

Hope you all have a great Easter and enjoy some time with friends and family! Most importantly, we are so thankful for Jesus' death and resurrection. Through Him our sins are forgiven and we can live eternally! I have been thinking about a hymn we sang at my grandma's church growing up. Thank you, Jesus, for rising from the grave!

  1. Low in the grave He lay,
    Jesus, my Savior,
    Waiting the coming day,
    Jesus, my Lord!
    • Refrain:
      Up from the grave He arose,
      With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
      He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
      And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
      He arose! He arose!
      Hallelujah! Christ arose!
  2. Vainly they watch His bed,
    Jesus, my Savior;
    Vainly they seal the dead,
    Jesus, my Lord!
  3. Death cannot keep his Prey,
    Jesus, my Savior;
    He tore the bars away,
    Jesus, my Lord!
