Preschool Weekly Themes.

I've never really blogged that much about the logistics or knowledge of teaching before, just my emotional posts about a really good or really bad day. So, this year you will get some more teaching posts, filled with all my wisdom (which isn't that much).

First, I'm going to post a list of weekly themes that I have used or are currently using. I teach all year round, so I've included summer themes also. I have researched "preschool weekly themes" numerous times over the years, so hopefully this can be helpful for ideas. Enjoy!

The first list is what I did my first year of teaching, the second is what I currently use (so clearly, I think list two is better, although there is no right answer).

January- Arctic Animals, Hibernation, Snowmen/Snowflakes, Snow Fun and Snow Toys, Transportation
February- Showing Love, Community Helpers (Health), Community Helpers (Safety), My Body
March- Fruits, Vegetables, Exercise, Praising God
April- Easter and Flowers, Creepy Crawly Bugs, Caterpillars and Butterflies, Watch it Grow
May- Colors, Shapes, Letters, Numbers, Opposites
Summer was different that year (long story), so I don't have themes because the whole center did something else.
September- Taking Care of Me, All About Me, Little Celebrations, Feelings
October- Tasty Apples, Changing Leaves, At the Farm, Pumpkins
November- God Takes Care of Me, Family, Friends, Thanksgiving
December- Treats and Decorations, Christmas Gifts, Christmas (2 weeks)
