Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

We rung in the new year last night hanging out with friends from our small group. It was a great time! We played lots of games. I was totally worthless at Battle of the Sexes (trivia is not my strong suit), but I surprising came through quite well for my team during darts!

Happy New Year to you all! Hope you are looking forward to a great 2014. We are! This will be a big year for us in many ways. A little scary, but a lot exciting.

Here is a little recap of our best from 2013. Looking back through is so fun- appreciating, remembering, reflecting on the good times. We are very grateful for His many blessings.

Kley and I went skiing and tubing with my sister, Kayla.

Kley and I went on an outdoor ice skating date.

With our credit card miles, we were able to get free tickets to Denver to visit my good friend, Lauren, and her husband, Stephen!

Lauren and I at Red Rocks in Denver.

We celebrated Easter with my family.

We celebrated Kayla's confirmation at Church.

For spring break we got to go to Disney with my parents and Kayla!

This is one of my favorite pictures of us.

For my birthday, Kley's parents gave us tickets to Washington DC to visit my good friend, Stephanie! It was our first time going and it was great to see all the sites!

While in DC, we also met Michelle Kwan!

We celebrated the 4th of July with friends downtown.

My only cousin on my dad's side, Alyssa, got married this summer.

One of my roommates from college, Kristin, also got married this summer.

We went to the fair for a day with our small group.

We got to spend a week in Beaver Creek, CO this summer with Kley's family!

Here we are with Kley's sister, Elizabeth, at the farmer's market in Vail.

This mountain picture is definitely one of my most favorite pictures I've ever taken.

This fall I ran my first 5k!

We spent a fun day at the pumpkin patch with friends from our small group.

We had a fall family night of making caramel apples and carving pumpkins.

Kley and I dressed up as each other for Halloween.

We fulfilled my concert dream of seeing Rascal Flatts!

We set up our Christmas tree/decorations super early in November and loved it.

We celebrated Kley's birthday fulfilling his concert dream of seeing John Mayer!

Thanksgiving with Kley's family.

Christmas in South Dakota with my family.

2013 was a great year. Looking back is so great to remember all the really good times. Overall, we had a wonderful year. It wasn't perfect, but even in the struggles we learned valuable lessons. Where we thought we would be at the end of 2013 didn't exactly happen, but that was a good lesson to learn about ultimately trusting God's timing and not my own. His is always better. I learned more about trust, patience, and contentment in Him this year. Even though it's not always fun to learn lessons, I am so thankful for a gracious and loving God who never gives up on me.

I'm also pretty thankful for Kley. :)

Here's to 2014! A lot will happen this year; let's make it good!
