Babymoon to KC part 1.

This weekend Kley and I went to Kansas City for our anniversary/babymoon trip. It was so great! We went down Thursday night, and it was so nice to have a whole weekend with uninterrupted time together. It was like a really long date- everyone should do it! I am so glad we went and got to spend some great quality time together.

Friday morning/afternoon we headed to the Kansas City Zoo. We decided to bear it even though the feels like temp was a little over 100. I am glad we went, although we didn't get super great pictures because I don't think the animals liked the heat either. They were either hiding or just laying around.

When we first arrived, Kley really wanted to go to the African animal show, which was way in the back of the park, and the map was deceiving in how far away it actually was. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a let down- super short with only a snake, turtle, and a chicken-type animal. Later in the day we went to the sea lion show and the bird show, and both of those were good!

The polar bear was swimming laps.

I liked trying to experiment with different camera settings, since we recently got a new camera

We both thought it was funny that this one turtle was sitting right on top of the food.

Unfortunately, the giraffes (my favorite), were not cooperating at all. This giraffe was sitting in the corner with his back turned.

The chimpanzees weren't doing much either. We were really confused as to why this one was wearing a glove. And they have really ugly butts.

Again, more laying around. In some exhibits, you couldn't see any animals at all, so I'm glad we got to see a few close up!

The sea lion show!

Kley on the tiger trail.

This was the best I could get.

Kley really loves koi fish.

Bird show!

After the zoo, we headed to the Country Club Plaza shopping center. It was super nice! Very ritzy. Our car looked like it was in shambles compared to the fancy cars parked there, with all the name brand stores. We stopped at Coldstone for a treat.

After walking around for a bit, we headed to the theatre there to watch The Giver. We had both read the book before, and we thought it was very well done. Would recommend!

We ended the day with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. It was a great day!
