Easter fun 2025.

Fun dyeing Easter eggs with these three sweets!

Egg hunt.

My favorite three bunnies!

Easter baskets.

While eggs and baskets are fun, we are most thankful for His death and resurrection- the best reason to celebrate! Thank you Jesus!

Family circus date 2025.

We had a fun family date at the circus! It's always interesting to see all the wild acts! Thankful for my favorite four and being able to do special things together. :)

Soccer 2025.

Spring rec soccer is in full swing! All three girls were excited about doing it and are enjoying it! We have had pretty decent weather for it too, which is nice! It's fun to watch them get out there and get better and try their best! Norah is team blue this year and Lucy and Ellory are team orange!

Recent reads.

Usually I only comment on the books I enjoyed, which thankfully is most things I read, but occasionally there are a few that I don't love. I have a long running note on my phone where I jot down books that I hear others recommend. And by jot down, I mean I snap a picture of the screen when I see it and then I finally pause when I have loads of book pictures and add the title to my list and then delete the photo. (I should get a better system.) What better place to start my book list than from people who recommend it?! On the opposite end, if I hear people saying that they don't recommend a book, why would that make my prospective book list? I acknowledge that writing a book is hard work and what an amazing gift it is to get published, but two books that I couldn't get into were Will by Will Smith and One Plus One by Jojo Moyes. I read Will a couple years ago, but got about half way and thought it was long and slow moving and didn't finish it. I was reading One Plus One recently, and got about halfway through and just wasn't excited to keep going and didn't feel connected to the characters. That said, both of those titles were on my book list because I saw others recommend it, so clearly some people like them and that's great! They just weren't my favorites.

Here are a few that I did finish recently and enjoyed!

Mama Bear Apologetics Guide to Sexuality: Empowering Your Kids to Understand and Live Out God's Design by Hillary Morgan Ferrer- I was interested to read this book, as our girls are getting older and we are starting conversations about these topics. This was an informative and thought provoking read. They talked about many different topics (like marriage, homosexuality, pornography, etc.) and how to go about talking about them through a Biblical lens.

In His Image: 10 Ways God Calls Us to  Reflect His Character by Jen Wilkin- I have heard about Jen Wilkin for awhile, but only recently read something by her. The women in our life group did this book as our study this year and it was really good! A great book for a study, if you want, as it also has discussion questions at the end of each chapter, but also would be great to read solo too. I loved every chapter and learned from each one. She does a great job of weaving Biblical truth, stories, and Scripture into each character trait.

The Third Gilmore Girl: A Memoir by Kelly Bishop- I read this book while on our Florida trip. I was thrilled to find it at our library and excited to read it, as I love the show Gilmore Girls. I was expecting much of the book to be about what it was like filming the show and her experience with that, but that was only a small portion of the book. I was disappointed there wasn't more about Gilmore Girls in it, but it was about her entire life and career and that was interesting to hear about too. It wasn't my favorite read, as it had many details about performing and acting (which I am not involved in that world), but it was neat to hear about her life.

Omaha fun.

We went to Omaha over the weekend to visit cousins and had a great time! We did a little shopping and tried out a new indoor play place, called Kipp, which was so cool! It's hard to get all five cousins in a photo, but here's the attempt! Glad we could spend time fun time together!

Lucy quickly found the basketball area.

Jumping away!

The girls thoroughly enjoyed the hotel pool and breakfast. It's so funny and cute how staying in a hotel is the best ever as a kid!

Parks and fun on our day off of school.

Since this winter was more mild than some, it didn't feel like we had as much of a park hiatus as in some years, so the "first day back for the year" was less monumental/harder to measure, but spring temps are coming and we are loving being outside more and getting to parks more regularly! Yay for more light, warmer temps, and time outside! I will take all the park trips we can get while the girls are still young enough to enjoy them, because time is flying and these beautiful girls are getting older! So thankful to be their mom and watch them grow up.

Three monkeys climbing away- trying to treasure both their bigness and smallness in this parenting stage.

We had a Friday off of school after conference week and we headed to our closest big town for some fun! We visited the Launch Pad children's museum with cousins Will and Gerrit and enjoyed playing, then headed to lunch and a park, and closed the day at Target. The best! What a fun day with my three favorite girls.

We had a day earlier in the week too where we visited the park after school and had supper with my grandma! Strange and sad to not have grandpa there (he went to Heaven in January), but so glad my grandma is close by and we can continue to see her!

Love these three so much! :)
